American Association of University Women

Promoting equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change.

Since 1881 the American Association of University Women has been the nation’s leading voice promoting education and equity for women’s rights and girls.

About Eastern Delaware County Branch

Eastern Delaware County Branch was originally organized in 1933 as the Lansdowne Branch, but changed its name in 1971 in recognition of its geographical growth. One of over 1300 branches of AAUW, it now serves more than 30 communities in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Throughout the years, the branch and its members have been known for many accomplishments within AAUW program areas.

Fundraising

The emphasis of our branch’s fundraising is on supporting the AAUW Educational Fund (EF), the world’s largest source of funding exclusively for graduate women, and the AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund (LAF), the nation’s largest legal fund focused solely on sex discrimination in higher education.

Meetings

Regular meetings of the Branch are generally held in the Convenant United Methodist Church: Saxer Ave. and Springfield Rd, Springfield (Delaware County), PA 19064, at 7:30 PM on the first Monday of each month, September through May. Specific meeting dates and special events are indicated in our calendar. Members may also become involved in special interest groups.
