The Garden Club of Springfield will hold its 12th annual plant and bake sale, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6 at Old Central School, Saxer Avenue and Powell Road in Springfield.
The event will be held rain or shine.
The sale will feature hundreds of herbs, vegetables, native plants, annuals, hanging baskets, and perennials including perennials that garden club members have propagated from their gardens. Additionally, the sale will feature a variety of freshly baked goods and plants dressed for Mother’s Day gifts.
Members of the Garden Club, including some of whom are Master Gardeners, will be on hand to answer questions and help with selections.
The garden club is a service and educational organization emphasizing the importance of using native plants in gardens.
All proceeds from the sale will go toward an annual scholarship awarded to a high school graduate who will pursue a degree in Horticulture or Environmental Studies.
The Garden Club of Springfield is a member of District I GCFP and National Garden Clubs Inc.
