The 2023 Springfield Township Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, starting at 12:00 Noon. The parade will start at West Springfield Road and South Britton Road and end at Saxer Avenue and Powell Road, with the reviewing located in front of Old Central School. Please come to the parade early to enjoy pre-parade festivities at the reviewing stand on Saxer Avenue beginning at 11:30am.
This year’s parade will include many fraternal, school, church, community, local business, boy and girl scout troops, fire companies, and Irish Dance groups. There will also be plenty of music including high school marching bands, pipe and drum bands, and string bands. The Delaware County divisions of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians will also be participating in this year’s parade
This year’s Grand Marshal will be the Springfield Fire Company, who celebrated their 100th year of service to Springfield Township in 2020.
The Hunter-Long Award will again be presented to the “BEST” appearing group in the parade. It is sponsored by Art and Jim Hunter, former long-time Springfield residents, in honor of their father and their uncle.
The Parade Committee asks for your prayers for good weather on Saturday, March 11, 2023. If there is bad weather or another reason to cancel, a “rain date” is scheduled for Saturday, March 18. If that occurs please listen to KYW-1060 AM radio for information. Hope to see you at the parade!
Note: The 2023 St. Patrick’s Parade is being dedicated to Belle Erb, who passed away in 2021. Belle was the long time Treasurer for the St. Patrick’s Parade Committee.
